Music and lyrics of this style of puppetry will be catchy and pleasing- aimed towards communication and entertainment.

Harischandra is a story which finds mention in the Rig Veda. It is also found in the Bhagavatha and Devi Bhagavata. In India it has become an integrated part of literature of all languages.

Harischandra and his wife Chandramati's commitment to truth through their arduous journey encountering strange and difficult circumstances and their eventual triumph is portrayed in the story. Harischandra and Chandramati are among the most celebrated and legendary couples of Bharatavarsha along with Nala-Damayanti, Savitri-Satyavan, and Rama-Seeta.

The puppet show is aimed at giving the audience the story of this exemplary personality and a glimpse how the couple stayed firm in the path of Dharma and rose in spirit facing the most difficult situations in life. The character of Nakshatrika has been treated in the puppet play to entertain one and all.

The puppet show is an hour long. About 30 puppets will be used in the show. The puppets are carved out of wood and are about 2.5 feet tall. The white elephant (airavatha), the horse and chariot and Nakshatrika are special puppets in this show.Buy Tickets @www.indianstage.in or call 9880036611

Sammy is a dramatic and modern version of this story with plenty of Gandhiji's hallmark humour. An extraordinary man about whom Einstein is said to have said "Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one once walked upon the earth"!
Sammy is important not just as a vibrant piece of theatre but is especially relevant because of the times we live in, where his creed of non materialism and non violence is sorely needed in an age of terrorism and consumerism!
It is a play that aims to bring alive a man whose influence changed politics forever (and set in motion the journey of others like Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King) With its dynamic style of presentation it hopes to straddle a large cross section of audiences, especially younger ones, who know him only from dusty textbooks!Buy Tickets @www.indianstage.in or call9880036611

The story has contemporary social relevance and I have tried to exploit this aspect of the story to the full. I have written the play with my folk actors, all of them improvisers, rather than with a pen. The same technique is adopted when directing. Indeed it is this technique which I have been persistently trying to perfect over the years with the help of the rural artists who form the professional hard core of Naya Theatre.Buy Tickets @www.indianstage.in or call9880036611

This rib tickling situational comedy revolves around two couples and their acquaintances where in a photograph of one of the protagonist instills doubt in the other regarding his wife's fidelity and from there on a chain reaction kicks off with every one doubting the other.

Anay, a young and ambitious theatre director is thrilled when Sita, an acclaimed but enigmatic actress agrees to work with him in his new play, No. 1 Madhavbagh. The line between reality and fantasy is blurred, and our characters are forced to examine their beliefs and convictions in the mirror of the play.

The Head Start Children's repertory is an essential part of The HeadStart School, Koramangala. The members of the repertory, are children aged 7 to 13 and after a fairly long process on various aspects of theatre, the children have devised this adaptation of the classic play by Habib Tanvir's Naya Theatre.

In our process, some things have changed but more than ever the realization has remainded that what makes this play timeless is its eternal topicality. The children view the play from their world. Set in contemporary times, here in Karnataka, the play is a satire on our understanding of society. At HeadStart the children go through various levels of theatre training. Starting with 3 month long workshops and then finally moving to the repertory, the children are keen on learning and experimenting with the theatre as an art form on a long term basis.

The Repertory would like to thank the entire staff and faculty at Head Start School, and the entire theatre department.

Most of all, we would like to thank our audience, for being here to give our young thespians an opportunity to share their first steps in to the world of the theatre. These are our first steps towards creating a long term children's repertory which trains and performs continually, from a young age.Buy Tickets @www.indianstage.in or call 9880036611

Buy Tickets for Woody Allen's God English play @www.indianstage.in

God is a comedy written by Woody Allen. The play is according to the times and elements of Ancient Greece with anachronous hints of contemporary life and on occasional but prominent references to Allen?s views of life . The play is filled with subtle 'tongue in cheek' dialogues which gives the play a universal appeal. The cleverly created characters themselves form an integral part of the play?s comic appeal. It initiates with a scene involving two distraught Greeks in the midst of an arena trying to find the end of a play they wrote, it soon wanders off into something completely unexpected while gathering overlapping instances of confusion and chaos...
